Seasons Hand-Painted Fayoum Pottery Serving Bowl

We’re proud to work closely with the potters of Fayoum - an oasis at the edge of a vast lake, soft dunes on the horizon, and groves of palms and sunflowers. Our partnership spans more than 20 artisans, and the relationships are ongoing and collaborative: we sketch together, test clays, and dream up new forms while honouring each maker’s integrity and individual style. To preserve that personal voice, one artisan crafts each design from start to finish - no two hands have the same touch. Pieces are formed in individual studios using clay from the banks of the Nile in Aswan, then hand-painted and fired in gas kilns to achieve a glaze particular to Fayoum - slightly glossy, richly hued, and unmistakably their own. Made in small batches, every bowl shows subtle variations in line, tone, and diameter, celebrating the maker’s hand and the continuity of millennia-old Egyptian craft. Hand wash only. The Seasons Serving Bowl carries an organic motif of interlacing fronds across a speckled ground, finished with a rich ochre rim. Generous yet refined - ideal for salads, fruit, or shared sides - and striking enough to stand alone as a sculptural centrepiece.
