Nile Swimmers Vase

Inspired by the beautiful scene of swimmers depicted on the Oundebaounded's silver cup, discovered in Tanis and preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Elegant on shelves or a mantelpiece, or filled with seasonal flowers, this  vase adds a touch of whimsy to any home. Each piece is one of a kind.

Made from Aswan red clay, this vase is shaped on the wheel, with additional elements cut from raw clay slabs and applied. White clay decorations are painted onto the raw surface before being engraved. The piece undergoes an initial firing, followed by glazing the interior with an opaque blue finish before the second firing.
